HLTV.org today announced it has been acquired by Better Collective, a leading sports betting media group with a vast portfolio that includes a range of websites and products.
The deal is worth up to €34.5m (257m DKK), of which €26.4m (197m DKK) will be paid upfront. The founders of HLTV.org ApS will continue as daily management for at least three years to ensure the continued development of the platforms and communities.
HLTV.org Aps CEO Martin Rosenbæk said: "HLTV has always been neutral in the CS:GO landscape in the sense we stand as independent. For 18 years this has always enabled us to provide unbiased news and coverage. Partnering with Better Collective gives us the much-needed backbone for HLTV.org in terms of a strong organizational setup that is required for us to continuously provide you with the best product possible. Better Collective has given HLTV management free hands to keep developing and improving the site as we have done for 18 years. We are very excited and hope you are as well.
Founded in 2002 in Denmark, HLTV.org is the leading Counter-Strike coverage platform in the world, providing news, match coverage and player and team rankings. On average, the website has more than 26.5 million visits per month.
