Cambios en el staff de CLG:
A New Start
Seventeen months ago was the start of an era of CLG that introduced one of the most successful rosters in CLG history. We took home the championship in the spring at Mandalay Bay, we defied all expectations and faced SKT in the finals of the Mid-Season Invitational, and we continued to surprise at the 2016 World Championships. All of this, adds on to the legacy that Counter Logic Gaming first built with its dominance at the World Cyber Games in 2010 and IEM Cologne 2011. With our first roster change in over a year, we want to continue winning to build upon that legacy.
Changes
During the off-season, management, Head Coach Zikz, and Assistant Coach Plop evaluated everything about the infrastructure, practice regimen, and process for the continued development of the LCS team. This resulted in the decision to part ways with Xmithie and acquire Dardoch as announced previously last week.
We have also decided to part ways with Grant “Grievance” Rousseau, the previous LCS Player Development Coach for the 2017 Spring Split. Although we appreciate the work he put in, it was decided that he was not the best fit for the team in the upcoming summer split. We want to thank Grievance for the time he spent with the LCS team this past split and wish him luck in future endeavors.
Matt “Trinitiii” Nausha, Esports Director, will be more heavily involved with the LCS team this summer split. Trinitiii has experience working as a coach and commissioner of the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball League (SCCVL) to help structure the practice regiment of the upcoming split. In addition, he has worked as a therapist providing years of psychotherapy after graduating with a Masters in Clinical Psychology. All administrative duties carried out previously by Grievance will be handled by our administrative assistant.
Getting a Head Start
In preparation to start off the Summer Split strong, the team has been bootcamping at the Sports Academy Esports facility in California. Head Coach Zikz and Assistant Coach Plop, along with the staff at Sports Academy, have scheduled out every hour from when the players wake up to when they sleep in order to maximize practice efficiency. In addition to scrimmaging versus other opponents, the team will be undergoing various mental and physical activities outside of just playing the game.

Such activities include morning cryotherapy, mental stress training, team building, physical performance tests, yoga, and recovery sessions. All meals will be prepared and catered by Head Cook mnq and have been consulted with our physical therapist Matt Hwu. We will be filming and producing a tour of the boot camp in the future for our fans. You can follow us on social media to see team building exercises such as The Floor is Lava and Count to 10 in the meantime for glimpses into the team’s bootcamp.
Having a strong start to the split is only the first step to our goal of winning a third LCS championship title and representing North America in the 2017 World Championships. We can’t give enough thanks to all our fans that have stuck by and supported the team all these years.
