That said the power difference between the top 5 powers is insane. The U.S. Military power rankings compared to everyone else was absurd. If you split the U.S. military branches into their own counties they would rank above everyone else. This is still pretty true. US defense spending is insane and reach year they spend more than most major powers combined.

Edit: Iraq's pre 2003 military power was why it was able to defy international sanctions, destabilize the region and threaten install and the U.S. For years before the war.
