Van a hacer una subasta y una gala para beneficio de los músicos de New Orleans. Si queréis asistir:
HBO and its new series Treme, currently filming in New Orleans, are hosting a celebrity auction and cocktail gala to benefit the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic, bringing attention to their important efforts to provide health and social services for local musicians and tradition bearers through this star-studded event.
The charity auction will take place at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 27, at Generations Hall, 310 Andrew Higgins Drive, New Orleans, LA. Tickets for “My Darlin’ New Orleans” Celebrity Auction are $100 a person, $50 of which is tax-deductible.
Event guests will walk the red carpet, mingle with actors and crew and see a preview of the new HBO show before its premiere while bidding on exclusive film and television memorabilia as well as items generously donated by HBO and local businesses. The auction also features items from David Simon and Nina K. Noble, Exec. Producers of HBO’s Treme, The Wire and Generation Kill.
Celebrity guests will include: Clarke Peters, Steven Zahn, and Wendell Pierce, among others. The event also includes several not-to-be-missed musical performances including jazz trumpeter Lionel Ferbos and legendary jazz vocalist John Boutté along with other surprise musical guests. New Orleans based celebrity chefs, including Susan Spicer of Bayona, Aaron Burgau of Patois (consultants to the series), and JoAnn Clevenger of Upperline will serve up a sampling of their signature dishes.
Following a silent auction and cocktail party will be the live auction. Some of the unique items to be bid upon are:
• An extra role on Treme (…and perhaps a chance to be discovered!).
• Memento boxes created by the actors featuring items that reflect either their Treme characters or themselves.
• A character in the series Treme named after you.
• Lunch on the set during the filming of Treme current Season 1 in New Orleans.
“My Darlin’ New Orleans” will help sustain the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic, part of the New Orleans Musicians Assistance Foundation, and their commitment to providing affordable, comprehensive health care to New Orleans’ most precious resource: the musicians. The nonprofit, established in 1998, became the first health care initiative of its kind in the United States, addressing the unmet medical needs of local musicians, artists and their families. The NOMC strives to institute an agenda of wellness into the New Orleans’ musician patient population, which in turn helps to keep the music and traditional artistry of the city alive.
