Who are Sevilla FC?
Sevilla are Spain's oldest football. They were formed on January 25, 1890 and Scotsman Farquharson Johnston was their first president.
Sevilla FC are based in Seville, capital and largest city of Andalusia in the southern part of Spain.
Are they any good?
Sevilla is also the most successful club in Andalusia, winning a national league title in 1945-46, the Copa Del Rey on five occasions and the Spanish Super Cup in 2007. They have won the UEFA Cup five times in the last decade (2006, 2007, 2014, 2015 and 2016) and won the UEFA Super Cup in 2006.
They were also designated by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics as the world's best club in 2006 and 2007, thus being the first club to achieve this distinction in two consecutive years.
They are currently third in La Liga behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Who is the manager?
Argentinian Jorge Sampaoli is the head coach of Sevilla. He was the manager of the Chile national team that won the South American Championships in 2015, beating Argentina in the final. In june he signed a two-year contract to take over at Sevilla.
Who are their star players?
Former Leicester City target Steven Nzonzi chose Sevilla over an offer from City when he chose to leave Stoke City in pursuit of European football. France international Samir Nasri is on loan at Sevilla from Manchester City. The captain is defensive midfielder Vicente Iborra and one to watch is striker Wissam Ben Yedder. The French striker has scored eight times in 16 games this season.
Where do they play?
They play at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, which holds 42,500 and was opened in 1958. It was the venue for the 1986 European Cup final between Steaua Bucharest and Barcelona, and was also the venue for the 1982 World Cup semi-final between West Germany and France.
