Yo el primera vista lo veo infinitamente mas parecido al Cube World que al Minecraft, solo que uno es tercera persona, y este es RTS

Introducing the Weaver

This week we have officially put the Weaver into the game! Here’s a quick rundown and video of the weaver in action. For this week’s video, I tried to capture myself actually playing the game a little while I explain the features. Let me know what you think of that style of presentation. Anyway, the Weaver!

The weaver is a crafter much like the Carpenter. So she has a workshop and can refine raw materials into useful things for your town. She has two roles in the game

Craft cloth suits that upgrade your units. So far she has two suits: an upgraded worker suit that makes your workers work faster, and a padded suit of armor for your footmen.
Craft decorations for your town, like rugs, banners, and flags.
Unlike the carpenter, who can immediately make use of wood lying on the ground, the Weaver needs to refine raw fiber from plants or animals into thread, then spin the thread into cloth.

Well, just watch the video. It explains all this.

Experimenting with New Building Features

Yeah, so over the past two weeks we’ve added lanterns, custom buildings, and ladders. We are now officially reaching critical mass, where you can combine the building features to make some cool (and unexpected!) stuff.

I present to you, my roof party! That’s a house, with some nice patio furniture on the roof, some lanterns for ambiance, and of course a ladder so my little guys can get to the roof.

And here’s another shot of the house at night. Good times.

Stonehearth Alpha 4 Official Release!

Hi. I’m pleased to announce that we’ve officially launched Stonehearth Alpha 4! It is available now on Steam, and will be available on Humble Bundle shortly. This is by far the most significant, feature-filled release for us, so congratulations to the whole team. It’s onward and upward from here guys. Here’s a super high-level summary of what’s in the Alpha 4 release:

New Classes: Footman, Weaver, and Trapper!

You can now upgrade your citizens to three new classes.

-Footman Basic fighting unit, who will automatically patrol your town and defend you from invaders. Invaders?
-Weaver A new crafter unit who crafts decorative items and basic armor for your units.
-Trapper The trapper’s back, with a less micro-intensive style of play!

Basic Combat!

After a while, you can expect your town to receive “visitors” interested in taking your stuff, so you’ll need them. Combat right now is fairly rough, and will undergo EXTENSIVE tuning during the next few alphas.

Building Designer, Phase 1

You can now design and build your own custom buildings. The tool is just in its beginning phases, and is a bit difficult to use right now. We know. It will get better!

New GUI

The GUI has received an extensive overhaul, with a centralized scoreboard and management screens for your citizens and crafters

Caravan Notifications!

Every now and then, you will receive a notification that a caravan has swung by your settlement. Caravans can provide new settlers or offer to trade new things for existing or craftable goods.

This week’s video focuses on hotkeys and some of the new UI interactions we’ve added. Here you go!

Hi all. Today’s Tuesday update will be super brief. I’ve been working on a mammoth post that will go up right after this one explaining exactly how we’re going to handle the upcoming Kickstarter deadline and releases from here on out. We’re also on the verge of updating Alpha 4 with a ton of bug-fixes and new features like no-combat mode.

I’ll be back next week with a video update. Until then, here are some pumpkins!

Update on Steam Release, Plus Exp/Leveling Feature

On Steam Early Access

Last week we announced that we would release Stonehearth on Steam Early Access.

A lot of you have expressed your concern, primarily around the average Steam Early Access customer’s expectations compared to Stonehearth’s progress in its development cycle.

We did indeed consider these kinds of concerns when we decided on the Early Access release plan, but we can also spot good advice when we see it. One of the best things about developing Stonehearth in the open has been the friendly, positive community that has sprouted up around the game. We certainly don’t want to do anything to put our current vibe at risk, and value your combined wisdom and outside perspective.

So, we are indefinitely postponing the Early Access release. Our official release timetable for Steam Early Access is “when it’s ready.” We will release to Steam Early Access when we’re confident that the game will delight the average Steam customer, and not before.

Our other release plans remain unchanged. We will release Alpha 5 this month to all $15 Kickstarter backers and pre-order customers. At that time, we’ll remove the pre-order option from the Humble Bundle widget. We’ll all be on the same happy ship sailing to Stonehearth’s final release, Alpha by Alpha.

Thanks to all of you who chimed in with your thoughts.

Experiment: Exp and Leveling

I’m playing around with adding RPG-like concepts to the game like experience points and leveling. This would give you one more way of measuring your progress in the game and unlocking perks for your town and citizens. This is totally experimental; maybe it’s a great idea, maybe it’s not.

Here’s what I have prototyped so far. Let me know what you think either in the comments to this post or in the discourse.

-Town Experience. Your town itself can earn experience when you complete particular tasks. Notice the green bar at the bottom of these screenshots, which shows how much exp your town has earned. When your town levels up, you’ll gain a new citizen, and unlock some kind of perk, tech, or bonus.
-Citizen Experience. Each of your citizens has a level and earns experience as they do their jobs. The plan is that leveling up your citizens will make them more effective at whatever their role is: crafters unlock new recipies, footmen get a damage boost, etc.

PD: Lo del Early Access me a gustado bastante, se nota que tienen a la comunidad como prioridad ante todo y sus opiniones.

Trading: The ability to buy and sell goods from travelling vendors who visit your town.
