El rumor peor guardado de este mercado, después del fichaje de ReignOver por Team Liquid, se oficializa por fin. Dignitas ha fichado a Ssumday y Chaser, llegados directamente desde la LCK.
Team Dignitas is happy to announce the addition of two star players to our League of Legends roster, subject to Riot approval. Following the acquisition of both Team Dignitas and Apex by the Philadelphia 76ers, the Apex LCS lineup transferred to Team Dignitas for the 2017 LCS NA Spring Split. Going into the 2017 season we were able to secure two renowned players to strengthen our lineup.
First, we would like to welcome Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho as our new Top laner. Ssumday was the 2015 LCK Summer Split MVP, 2015 LCK Summer Split KDA Leader, and ranked as one of the world’s top ten League of Legends players by ESPN in August, 2016.
If that isn’t enough Korean domination for you then we’ve also got Lee “Chaser” Sang-hyun lined up in the Jungle. The former Longzhu Gaming star had the highest KDA of all Junglers in the 2015 LCK Spring Split and is known for his hyper-aggressive style.
The remaining three players will be joining both Chaser and Ssumday in Korea for a pre-season bootcamp. We have set up the best possible support staff for our lineup to make sure the transition to NA goes smoothly and to bridge any language barrier. We’re looking forward to competing in LCS again starting January 21, 2017 at the Riot Studios in Los Angeles, California.
“I am excited to play overseas and help Team Dignitas raise the standard for a North American team,” said Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho. “I believe the Dignitas NBA ownership structure will provide the best conditions for me to focus on gaming, training and development. I am confident that, together with my Team Dignitas teammates and coaches, we will grow to become competitive on the world stage.”
“This was an incredible opportunity to play internationally, for an ambitious organization, that wants to win.I believe my aggressive Jungling stylewill fit the 2017 meta well, and contribute to our success”, said Lee “Chaser” Sang-hyun. “I am excited to live in Los Angeles, make new friends, and make my mark in the NA LCS.”
“Bringing world-class talent like Ssumday and Chaser onto our squad confirms our commitment to building a team for our fans and partners that dominates the global gaming landscape,” said Team Dignitas CEO Jonathan Kemp. “With the support of our partners at the Philadelphia 76ers, and these two new unbelievable players, we are taking Team Dignitas recruiting, development and performance to the next level.”
