Similar to patch 3.0, patch 3.1 contains content that can only be accessed by registering FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward to your service account. To distinguish between adjustments that are and are not affected by the registration of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward, the following notations will be used throughout the patch notes:

Quests
• b New main scenario quests have been added.[/b]
• b The requirements for progressing through the main scenario quests “Dressed to Call,” “Passing Muster,” and “Prudence at This Junction” have been adjusted to item level 5.[/b]
• b The requirements for progressing through the main scenario quests “Hest of the Best” and “Pass the Smell Hest” have been adjusted.[/b]
* These adjustments will not affect the storyline in any way.
- Players that are currently progressing through either of the above quests will need to cancel and then re-accept the quest to be able to complete them under the new conditions
• b New Chronicles of a New Era quests have been added.[/b]

- Players that accept any of these side quests after the adjustments have been implemented will be able to obtain the aether current reward upon completion.
- Players that have completed any of these side quests prior to the adjustment will be able to accept the newest version of each quest and will receive the aether current reward upon completion.[/i]
• b The year display has been removed from seasonal event journals.[/b]
• b A Vanu Vanu settlement and corresponding beast tribe quests have been added to the Sea of Clouds.[/b]
The new beast tribe settlement can be found in the region listed below. There, players will be able to purchase unique items from the local vendor.
- Sea of Clouds ─ Nakki Island (X:6 Y:14)
The Vanu Vanu main quests and daily quests will employ an automatic level adjustment system known as quest sync, which will match the difficulty of the battles to the player's current job and class levels. Any experience received upon the completion of these quests will be adjusted accordingly. Furthermore, players will not be allowed to proceed with a class or job that is different than when they accepted any of these quests.
Vanu Vanu Daily Quests
To unlock Vanu Vanu daily quests, players must first complete the beast tribe main quest “Three Beaks to the Wind.”

• b3.0 The destination marker display has been changed for Guild and Temple battlecraft patrol leves.[/b]
•b To reduce congestion in the Sea of Clouds, the locations where monsters spawn for the battlecraft leves “Marl-ementary Procedure” and “Nobody Can Farm Marl, but Marl (L),” have been changed.[/b]

Treasure Hunts
• b New item rewards have been added to the timeworn wyvern and dragonskin treasure maps.[/b]
• b3.0 The acquisition rate for items that can be obtained through the timeworn archaeoskin, wyvern, dragonskin and the unhidden leather maps have been adjusted.[/b]

Grand Companies
• b New items have been added.[/b]
• 2.0 The number of items players would like to exchange for company seals can now be specified.
* As a result of this change, items that are a part of a set will now be treated as a single unit.
• b The items in your inventory displayed in the Supply and Provisioning Missions window will now display as either normal quality or high quality.[/b]
• b Free Company names can now be changed.[/b]
To change Free Company names, players must speak with the OIC administrator at Grand Company Headquarters.
* Only the master of the Free Company can make changes to the name.
- Once the Free Company name has been changed, it will not be possible to do so again for 30 days (Earth time).
• b The following symbol options for class and job icons have been added to Company Crests:[/b]
Rogue / Ninja / Dark Knight / Astrologian / Machinist
* In order to use job icons, players must first have attained the Rank 7 entitlement Crest Expansion.
• b3.0 New items that can be crafted for company projects have been added.[/b]
• b The rested experience bonus and experience bonus items no longer apply when gaining experience from company projects.[/b]
• bThe amount of time required to fully charge grades 1 through 3 of aetherial wheels has been shortened.[/b]
• b Retainer summoning bells have been added to company workshops.[/b]
2.0 Exploratory Voyages have been adjusted as follows:
New items have been added, obtainable through Exploratory Voyages.
Voyage EXP gained upon returning from a voyage has been increased.
- The following features have been added to the flight control panel:
- The previously summoned airship will be displayed at the flight control panel.
- The status of airships on exploratory voyages can be viewed.
Navigational charts can be viewed during exploratory voyages.
When making airship repairs, the amount of repair materials in your possession can be viewed.
The repair screen can be viewed even when you have no repair materials or ceruleum tanks in your possession.
When deploying an airship, the cutscene is visible to all players in the workshop.
* Cutscenes will not be seen by players doing company crafting or speaking with NPCs.

Housing
• b3.0 New furnishings have been added.[/b]
• b A new indoor furnishing allowing quest cutscenes to be viewed from within houses, The Unending Journey, has been added.[/b]
* Cutscenes may not be viewed until the inn has been unlocked.
• b3.0 New items can be grown via gardening.[/b]
• b A new estate vendor NPC, the steward, has been added.[/b]
• b The number of vendor NPCs allowed in an estate has been adjusted.[/b]
• b A new feature for personal housing, Estate Sharing, has been implemented.[/b]
With Estate Sharing, the owner of a house may designate up to three of their friends as "tenants" who have access to the house and its associated features. A player may only be a tenant of at most two houses.
* A player may remove themselves from a house's tenant list.
Tenant Authorizations
The owner of a house may configure the following authorizations for their tenants:
- Customization
Adding / Removing / Dyeing Furnishings - Gardening
Planting / Harvesting / Crop Disposal - Stable Tending
Stabling Chocobos.
Teleporting
Tenants may use the miniature aetheryte placed on the owner's estate grounds.
• b To ensure that plots of land are not claimed and left unused, estates not accessed for extended periods of time will be automatically demolished.[/b]
Estates Subject to Demolishing
Free company housing that has not been accessed by at least one member of the company within forty-five days.
Private housing that has not been accessed by the owner within forty-five days.
Purchased plots of land upon which an estate has not been built within forty-five days.
* The count for days of inactivity will begin on the release of patch 3.1Steps Prior to Demolishing
Thirty days of inactivity
A notification indicating that the estate is being prepared for auto-demolition will appear in the Timers interface in the Duty tab of the Main MenuThirty-five days of inactivity
An e-mail will be delivered to the registered e-mail addresses of all free company members, or the owner of a private estate, indicating the estate is being prepared for auto-demolition.
Forty-two days of inactivity
An e-mail will be delivered to the registered e-mail addresses of all free company members, or the owner of a private estate, indicating that the estate will be demolished automatically in three days.
Forty-five days of inactivity
The estate will be automatically demolished.Halting Demolition
Any free company member or private housing owner entering the estate at any time prior to demolition will cancel the demolition process.
* A tenant entering a shared estate will not cancel the demolition process.After Demolition
When an estate has been demolished, or the rights to an empty plot have been relinquished, said plot will be made available for purchase to all players on that World. The price will decrease every six hours from the time at which it is made available for purchase.Reclaiming Gil and Items
When an estate has been demolished, gil and certain furnishings will be placed in the care of the Resident Caretaker for a fixed period of time.
Redeemable from the Resident Caretaker80% of the price paid for the estate grounds.

* Players must speak with the housing enthusiast to retrieve their chocobos.

- Private chambers.
- Plants in the garden that have yet to be harvested.
- Aetherial wheels that have yet to finish charging.

- Players will have thirty-five days to redeem items from the resident caretaker before they are made irredeemable. Items belonging to a free company estate can only be retrieved by members with the authorization to purchase or relinquish land. Items belonging to a private estate can only be retrieved by the owner. Chocobos are not subject to the thirty-five day timer.
• b Adjustable lighting has been implemented, allowing house lighting to be set to one of five levels.[/b]
After entering an Estate, lighting controls can be accessed via the Housing interface under Social in the main menu.
